Aspects of The Glare

The fiction, The Glare depicts the life of a religiously raised naive young lady's pursuit of happiness but going into the wrong direction to find it. First, by marrying a man out of her faith, rich, and of society's upper echelon. All, socially and financially out of her league. Ally was not accepted into her new family, especially by her mother-law, who saw her as an opportunistic "gold-digger". She was devastatingly hurt when after ten years the marriage ended in divorce. Out of pride, she refused to accept any financial support from her rich husband, Greg or his family. No longer believing in God after pleading heartfelt prayers to save her marriage, angry and with pride, she decided to leave her beautiful home and life of luxury. With her children, Sage and Casey left to fend for themselves. Her bad choices and alcohol abuse catapulted them into some of the worst living conditions, devastation, strange and weird encounters ever imagined.

The Glare is a story that starts with a beautiful fairytale marriage beginning that becomes a total nightmare for the whole family. The content and issues in the story are not unique, but the way the characters are individually affected and handle their problems is singularly different. Their personalities directly had an effect on how they dealt with the difficulty of trying to adjust to their new life. It tells whether they will step over obstacles and succeed or be crippled by them when they stumble. Substance abuse brings into their lives undesirable and unwanted characters, along with mysterious, and unexplained events. In some instances, these events are quite scary.
